Booboo Stewart talks with The-Trades about his character's increased role, working alongside the Twilight stars, and his future projects.
[...] "Breaking Dawn, Part 1" you did the wolf voices or internal monologues. How was that?
It was really cool. I was wondering how they were going to do this – for people who weren’t fans of the books it might be really confusing. I think they did it really well – they didn’t make it sound exactly how we do.
We did one version like a regular voice. Another version, we talked as low as we could. In another, we had to use growling voices. And then, they just mixed it all together and made it sound really cool.
What was it like to work with Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson?
They’re great, really cool. Robert is a really nice person. Actually, it’s a funny story. When I first got the part, everyone is like what’s Robert like? I never met him. We were together in a scene, but I was a wolf so I was never actually there. This whole time we filmed the movie, and doing press – I never met him. Then, finally at the Kid’s Choice Awards, I got to shake his hand for a second and finally met him. On "Breaking Dawn" we got to hang out a lot.
So, who are your closest friends on set?
The person I keep in touch with the most is Chaske Spencer. He plays Sam, the leader of the wolf pack – the guy with the really deep voice. He’s cool.
What other movie franchises would you like to get involved in?
I’d love to be in "Lord of the Rings." Even if I just got killed in the background, I wouldn’t care. I could be even be an elf.
Do you go to a public school or are you homeschooled?
I actually finished it last year. I finished it early. I was doing homeschooling – all on the computer with this program called SOS. You didn’t need to be online to do it like some programs. I got to do it on planes and on set.
I heard you traveled with Miley Cyrus, what’s she like?
She’s really nice and outgoing. I haven’t seen her in a long time. Actually, I did a episode of Good Luck, Charlie. I was at an autograph signing one time – it was with Disney and last minute so no one really knew I’d be there – and most of the kids in line were 7-12 years old. They were so excited I was from Good Luck, Charlie. They had absolutely no idea what else I was in.
What is some of your favorite music?
My favorite music is classic rock, and band is Boston. But I’ve been listening to a lot of old disco music lately like The Commodores.
What actors are some of your biggest inspirations?
I think Jim Caviezel is a very fine actor – he’s one of my favorites. Heath Ledger is really good too.
Who would you like to collaborate with in a film?
Michael Bay is an awesome director; actually I’d just really like to meet him.
What’s next for you?
In March, I’m going on this tour with my sisters called the Digitour. They grab artists from YouTube and bring them to stage so people can actually see them. I’m going on to film a horror film called "The House of the Damned." It’s in 3D, so it’ll be my first experience working with that. Also, I just finished a movie called "White Frog" where I play a teenager with autism. It’s about a family that struggles from a tragic accident, and my character has to bring them back together. It’s coming out this summer.
Will that be in theaters?
Not sure. It’s an indie film, so it’s going to be in the festival circuit. I’m just really proud have been a part of it; it really creates awareness for autism.
