Booboo Stewart, who plays the main character in “Running Deer,” walked the red carpet Saturday with co-star and native film mainstay John Proudstar and director Brent Ryan Green at UltraStar Multi-tainment Center for the worldwide premiere.
The trio stopped for photos and after the Toy Gun Films’ movie, held a question-and-answer session and signed autographs.

Recently Stewart was cast as Warpath in the upcoming X-Men film, “X-men: Days of Future Past,” and Proudstar said he wouldn’t want anyone else to play the role of the first Native American character in the X-Men films. “I’m so proud of Booboo. He’s a great guy.”
After the premiere, “Running Deer” starts a festival circuit with its next stop in Oklahoma City at the deadCENTER Film Festival June 5 through June 9.
